Prices vary based on:

Battery Size

Type of Battery

Most vehicles automotive and otherwise use four kinds of batteries Gel Cell, Valve Regulated, Dry Cell, Deep Cycle. Different batteries have different pricing due to their manufacturing techniques, demand for them, and their size.

Output

Different batteries have a varying Cranking Amps, too few cranking amps and the engine won't crank.

Vehicle Type

Every vehicle has specific complications related to it like being located under seats, hidden under apholstry, behind air intake systems, attached to delicate and super expensive pieces like computers or high pressure air tanks, or just having specialty tools to do the job.

Signs You Need A Car Battery Replacement

Vehicle Won't Start

If your vehicle won't start there are three systems that need to be checked to ensure there is proper delivery of air, fuel, and electricity to the engine. The first system to check is the electrical system, as the delivery of fuel and air on most modern cars is electronically controlled or asissted.

Dashbord Warning Lights Are On

If your battery light or in some cases engine light is lit up, there’s a battery problem. The battery needs to be checked to look for corosion on the terminals or wires. Volt tested to ensure charge levels, and checked on each side of the batery for signs of swelling. Internal shorts cause an arc of electricity between the cells in the battery where it's not supposed to happen, this is usually caused by alternator issues.

Electrical Problems

If your battery is dying but not dead yet, there won't be enough power to run all the electronic components of your car. When this happens it's not uncommon to experience odd behavior from your electrical system. Volt testing the battery while the vehicle is off and running is the first test recommended when diagnosing any electric issues in your vehicle.

Swollen Battery

Internal shorts cause an arc of electricity between the cells in the battery where it's not supposed to happen, this produces heat that warps and expands the battery cells causing the swelling and leaking of hazardous highly caustic acid. This is usually a strong indicator of alternator issues.

Strange Odor

If you smell a rotten egg odor coming from the battery, this is an indication that battery acid is leaking and corroding away other engine components. Be careful not to get it on your skin, it will cause severe chemical burns.

The Battery Is Old

If your battery is older than two years, know your old battery did a solid job. The average battery lasts a year or two, while Valve Regulated AGM batteries survive twice that of the standard flooded battery the other guys will try and give you. Don't worry your battery is gauranteed by the warranty for three years.

How Important Is A Car Battery Replacement?

If your vehicle is showing the signs of a failing car battery, schedule a battery replacement as soon as possible.

A dead car battery can stop your vehicle, leaving you stranded anytime and anywhere. If your car has a swollen battery or one leaking battery acid, it can burst flinging it's acid everywhere damaging your engine or components near it. In rarer cases it can cause a fire.

Are All Car Batteries The Same?

No sadly, it would be nice if there was a universal batter that fit all cars and trucks. When getting a car battery replacement, you need to consider the Battery Type, Physical Size, Terminal Location, Electrical Specifications, Replacement Warranty.

How To Replace A Car Battery

Step 1

Locate your battery. The most common battery locations are under the hood, under the passanger seat, inside the trunk, inside wheel wells, or under the back seats.

Step 2

Locate the negative battery terminal, the battery will have a minus symbol next to or on the battery post. There is typically fewer wires coming off the negative terminal, and the wire is usually black however in many european vehicles the negative wire is brown.

Step 3

Loosen the nut closest to the battery post, this will loosen the terminal clamps. Don't take the nut all the way off, it's a pain to get back on.

Step 4

Remove the negative terminal from the negative battery post, and pull the wire away somewhere where the terminal won't touch the battery posts. Be mindful not to bend or break of any delicate wires clipped or routed to the terminal. This makes it safe to work on the battery.

Step 5

Remove the positive terminal from the positive battery post, and pull the wire away somewhere where the terminal won't touch the battery posts. Be mindful not to bend or break of any delicate wires clipped or routed to the terminal.

Step 6

Remove the nuts locking the battery in place. These are usually on top connected to hooks or on top of a metal plate holding down the bottom edge of the battery.

Step 7

Remove the dead battery and insert your replacement battery. Be mindful not to crush or bend any wires, hoses, or components when doing this step.

Step 8

Put it all back together in reverse order.

What Is A Car Battery

The battery stores the electricity used to start your vehicle and to power all the other electrical components in your vehicle.

How Long Do Car Batteries Last

A standard flooded lead-acid battery has a lifespan of three to five years. Valve Regulated AGM batteries last up to twice as long. Several factors could affect the battery life, including driving habits and weather conditions. Because of the extreme weather here in Arizona battery life expectancies are half of those just described.
